Aesthetic Atrocities From The World Of Beer.

We love the stuff, but bloody hell, some brewers should be tied up in hop pockets and beaten with malt-shovels.

About this Blog

A straw has broken the camel's back.

We have several bones to pick with the world of cask ale – cringe-inducing beer names, woeful artwork and generally execrable branding.

Why, when there is the continual background murmur "we want more people to try cask ale", do brewers keep giving their beers cringeingly bad, wince-inducing names and wilfully amateurish artwork?

It must stop!

Only by naming and shaming the culprits can we improve the presentation of cask ale.

This is how it works: when you come across a bad pumpclip (name or image or both) take a pic with your mobile and upload it!

Email your picture as a jpg attachment to pumpclip.parade@googlemail.com . You can add your own text too – tell us what you think. Your email won't be published immediately as we'll need to filter out spam and high-spirited pranksterism.

Just for the record, the straw that has broken the camel's back is "Dognobbler" – hang your heads in shame Wylam Brewery.
