Beer and knitwear are linked at least in the popular imagination as closely as their hairy fellow travellers, the beard. Along with waistcoats and leather cowboy hats they can often be seen in the crowd at beer festivals. I'm not sure if the tankard wielders of Camra would approve of the brands but here's another excellent flickr set of scary 70/80's beer label knit wear.
